We are delighted that developments at New Bailey have been shortlisted for not one, not two but three awards at the prestigious Insider North West Property Awards.
Riverside House is the star of the (shortlist) show and is nominated in two categories, for a Design Excellence Award and Commercial Development of the Year.
As many of you will know, aside from the retention of the original 19th century façade on two sides of the building, the rest of Riverside House is entirely new build. An additional floor was added as part of the works, and the building’s original footprint was doubled.
This mix of old and new, coupled with a stunning industrial-influenced internal fit-out, caught the eye of the Insider judging panel, resulting in the two nominations.
Riverside House was fully let prior to completion, with one of its new occupiers being Muse Developments, who is also up for Commercial Developer of the Year. Muse Developments is part of the joint venture partnership, alongside Legal & General and Homes England, who together form The English Cities Fund, the delivery team behind New Bailey as well as some of the most complex and successful urban regeneration projects across the UK.
Last but certainly not least, law firm BLM’s pre-let at Two New Bailey Square is up for Deal of the Year. The firm took 70,782 sq ft in November 2019, making it the largest office letting in the Manchester market for the final quarter of the year and the team is set to move in in early 2021. The Insider North West Property Awards evening, which normally takes place in May, will this year be hosted on Friday 2nd October and we can’t wait to celebrate, whether it’s just for being shortlisted or (fingers crossed) for winning.
