Manchester’s Female Young Entrepreneur of the Year, Karina Jadhav, has announced plans for a luxury £1.5million city centre restaurant situated in One New Bailey.
The new restaurant, Menagerie, has taken 6,000 sq ft on the ground floor within One New Bailey, a new state-of-the-art office and leisure development.
It will share the building with leading international law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer which has taken 80,000 sq ft.
Karina Jadhav is the former co-founder and creator of Neighbourhood, Victors Hale and Southern Eleven.
Her latest venture will develop and converge the genres of gastronomy, art and performance, introducing the next level of immersive dining in the North West.
Having spent the last eight months travelling the USA and Europe for inspiration and planning the project in detail, Karina’s latest dining experience ‘Menagerie’ is set to open in late summer.
“Myself and the team are very excited to see the plans for Menagerie come to fruition following many months of hard work”, said Karina.
“The opening will provide a vital opportunity to introduce a new wave of experiential vibrant dining to Manchester, which really represents my personal evolution in the industry.”
Speaking about the unique name, Karina explains the reasoning behind this.
“A menagerie is a collection of the enticing and exotic, which is exactly what my concept will bring to Manchester.
It’s all about every aspect of the guest’s experience.”
Adjacent to Spinningfields and situated next to Salford Central station, Karina felt the New Bailey development would be the perfect location to launch her latest project.
ECf Development Director Phil Mayall commented: “One New Bailey is a new hub for business and leisure so we are delighted to welcome Menagerie on board.
We wanted to bring a dining experience unlike no other in Manchester so partnering up with Menagerie made perfect sense to us.
“We firmly believe that the New Bailey development is strengthening the city’s business and leisure value through its pioneering building One New Bailey and future exciting developments.”
Salford City Mayor Ian Stewart added: “New Bailey is a key element of our innovative growth plans which are increasing the economic vitality and competitiveness of Salford and Manchester’s expanding city centre.
The New Bailey riverside location is providing a thriving leisure, business and commercial quarter and Menagerie’s opening is exciting news.”
With 200 covers, the new restaurant and bar will serve modern American cuisine, including brunch, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner with an exclusive private dining area.
Karina will be recruiting a team of 50 seasoned individuals with industry specific experience both front of house and within the kitchen.
Menagerie is the first in what will hopefully become a number of restaurants and bars across the UK offering the contemporary concept.
