The planning is underway and we are getting our ducks in line ready for the spectacular 2017 Manchester Duck Race! It will be taking place on Good Friday, the 17th April on the River Irwell. We are expecting over 100,000 visitors, including some surprise celebrity guests, lining the River bank at New Bailey and Spinningfields to see over 5,000 rubber ducks glide along the water, all hoping to be the winner!
The ducks are now on sale and they are available on Brainwave’s dedicated web page https://www.brainwave.org.uk/Event/2017duckrace. All proceeds will help to support Brainwave and continue their incredible work, providing specialised care for children with cognitive disabilities such as Down’s syndrome, autism and cerebral palsy. The event will once again be sponsored by Manchester’s bathroom specialists, Bathroom Takeaway
We’re asking as many businesses as possible to purchase their own corporate duck and decorate it however they see fit, to be in with a chance of not only winning the race, but also winning the Best Dressed Duck Competition. We are all looking forward to making this year’s Manchester Duck Race bigger and better than ever before and we can’t wait to see you all there come rain or shine. The Manchester Duck Race will begin at New Bailey Bridge on Friday 14th April and the race will start at 11.00 am.
